Club Background

Background to the club


Morley Cricket Club plays senior and junior cricket.  Its First X1 plays in the JCT 600 Bradford League Division 2 and the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield and the Heavy Woollen Cup.

The 2nd X1 play in the JCT 600 Bradford League Division 1 (having been promoted as Champions of Division 2 in 2008), the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield and the Crowther Cup.

The Third Team play in the Wakefield Cricket Union on Sundays.

At junior levels, the Club has sides at under 9, under 13 and under 15 age groups playing in the Heavy Woollen District Junior Cricket League.  It also operates an under 11s sides in the Leeds and District Cricket League.

Clubmark

In 2006, Morley CC achieved the Club Mark award.  This is a quality standard that signifies that the Club provides a safe and friendly centre for people of all ages and abilities to develop their cricketing skills and love of the game.  The Club is committed to improving its teams and facilities and will strive to continue its development in the coming years.
